The Harsh Reality of a Traffic Ticket for a Commercial Driver
A traffic ticket can have serious consequences regardless of whether you are a commercial or non-commercial driver. However, for a commercial driver, a traffic ticket involves a harsher reality – both for state-imposed consequences and the impact of the commercial driver’s life. The reason for this is that commercial drivers are held to a higher standard because they spend significantly more time on the road.
Two major differences that you could face as a Commercial Driver’s License holder is:
- The points of each traffic violation is 1.5 times more than the points of the same violation for non-commercial drivers.
- Commercial drivers are not permitted to attend traffic school to eliminate these points.
These stricter consequences can mean that even one or two tickets can result in your Commercial Driver’s License being suspended or revoked. Our CDL traffic ticket defense attorneys can help you fight traffic violations and possibly get them dismissed to avoid in these harsh consequences.
